Puppy Pen Recommendations

I’m bringing home our new puppy soon and am looking for recommendations.

The entire downstairs of our home is open plan so I’d like to fence off a safe area for him which contains his bed, gives him room to play and a bit of space from the children when needed.

Due to the layout of our home, stair gates won’t work but the majority of pens look tiny and/or flimsy. I’ve been looking at something like this pawhut barrier which would be great as it can be used in different layouts including as a freestanding room divider but I’m unsure about how robust this would be, particularly when used in the barrier layout. I’d likely need two of them to give the space I’d like

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions please?

It partly depends what size/breed the puppy is, but it does look like a good possibility for an open plan layout where normal dog gates aren't going to be an option.

We use one of the standard panelled metal playpens as a room divider and it works okay for us. But the one you show here looks much better quality and more child friendly than the one we have.
I think my only reservation with this one is the height, and potentially the weight. Unless pup is a small breed, you may find this isn't tall or robust enough to act as a barrier for very long. But, depending on the pup, it may be okay as a temporary measure at least.

I have this one set up for my puppy who is due to come home in just over a week. I bought it on Facebook marketplace with a crate too and have set the two up together. I like that fact it has vertical bars so less chance of climbing out (I hope!)

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it. I should have mentioned that our puppy is a Working Cocker spaniel.

@PoodlePlace I had actually looked at this pen, my only concern is stepping over the threshold bit, I’m so bloody clumsy I can see myself constantly tripping over it! Does it feel pretty stable now it’s set up?

Yes it does. We have set it up in a sort of rectangle shape with just 7 panels and joined it up to the crate. Also a good height at 80cm.

Thanks @PoodlePlace good luck with the new pup!
