Adolescent lab puppy. Recall gone to pot.
Need strong longline for a large (strong!) breed please.

get a horse lunge line, longer and beaver with better clips, often cheaper too

Personally I like the biothane long lines because they are soft in the hand but also waterproof and super easy to clean when muddy.
min my experience it’s the clips which are most likely to fail rather than the line itself so I often swap out the clips for climbing locking carabiners so they are super safe

Just don’t go too long, they can build up a hell of a lot of speed, very quickly.

Kind regards, the owner of a golden retriever, 12 months into a painful, gruelling recover from an L5 disc injury, after my then ten month old retriever took off like a rocket after a bird on a 32ft line and pulled me down a rocky bank.

@Peteryourhorseishereeyikes ! That sounds like something my lab would do ! Recover well Flowers

Trinkity paws do a very long biothane lead.

Biothane are good. I’m not familiar with horse lunge lines, but I’ve found a great advantage with the biothane lines is that if you tie several knots in them along the length, they are less likely to slip from under your foot if you use that to stop them.

Ditto to being careful with the length. I have a pulled shoulder from when my husband thought it would be a good idea to kick a rugby ball around and didn’t tell me. I didn’t have time to drop the lead.

A 10m long line is about the maximum length you want. I've got a Coachi one that's on sale on Amazon at the moment. My nobhead is half Lab and by Christ he can get some speed up.

I'd say think about getting a walking belt too - I was carrying a permanent sprain in my forearm until I did, as it never got a chance to heal.

Finally, be careful about where you step when the line is trailing - I once threw a toy for him and the line caught my ankle - I was about three inches from joining the Moulin Rouge 😬

Another vote for biothane. Lunge lines and similat get wet, heavy and muddy.
