I angered a friend

I was pet-sitting for a friend. I would take little dog on walks down the gravel road. Every now and then, I would see a neighbor and would say hello. One day, he asked me if we could text each other. (We are both married.) Being the super nice extrovert that I am, I didn't see a problem.

0After a text or two, he turned out to be a pervert. I told.my husband and he said to block the guy, which I did. But, I also felt that my friend needed to know what her neighbor texted me. So, I sent her screenshots of the texts. Well, my friend blew up at me! She said that she didn't understand why I would exchange phone numbers with her married neighbor, especially since I'm married. My husband and I trust each other and we know that our marriage is sold.
Anyway, my friend has blocked me from any form of communication. It sounds crazy but I really miss being able to talk to her.
Was I wrong?

Doghouse is for dogs…not putting friends in the doghouse or because your friend has put you in one!

You may want to ask for this to be moved.

Personally, I can see both sides here. But as it’s not dog related, all I will say is best of luck with your friendship woes.

Well she was walking a dog 🤣

I have swapped numbers with other people that have dogs , it's come in handy when dogs are lost , you have food yours won't eat , aggressive dogs in the local park and such like .
Absolutely nothing to do with wanting to send or receive inappropriate messages.

I think your friend is over reacting but I wo der if she already knows this guy has got form for doing this.

Unless you’re new to the area and desperate for friends, it’s inappropriate. I wouldn’t ask for or take the number of a random man.

I'm glad the dog's alright. Makes a change on this board. 😆

Many women are jealous of other women and it’s most likely he’s never even glanced in her direction and even though she may not be interested in him, she feels aggrieved that he found you attractive and not her.

Jealous people like that are not worth your time.

Think it’s weird to swap numbers with a friend’s neighbour, I mean, why?

Hgddffdfhgffgd · 08/09/2025 18:36

I think your friend over reacted, however I find it odd you swapped numbers with him. I think most women would have sensed something off with that, , I wouldn’t have swapped numbers with him.

Not everyone is a child! It’s more likely that it was obvious he wanted her number to be a perv and she’s shocked she didn’t see it coming.
