.... are just vertically challenged Dobermans

The resemblance is UNCANNY 😂

I know a couple of Weeners who definitely identify as Dobermans anyway 🤣❤️

I have a FB friend who used to have two of each. She said the dachshunds were much feistier than the dobes.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 09/08/2025 09:22

Since my black cats clearly identify as panthers I think you are being entirely reasonable.

Daschunds are definitely tougher.

I say this all the time about my dachshund. She’d take any Doberman on in a fight with all the confidence she’d win.

Yes, we once had a funny encounter between our first standard black and tan dachshund and a Doberman - it lowered down to eyeball him with a ‘WTF’ look.
I wish I had a pound for the number of times when hillwalking someone joked about him and his successor that he’d been a Doberman when he started but his legs had worn down.Hmm (I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a dobie atop Lake District and Yorkshire peaks)

They were bred to hunt badgers. You'd have to be psychotic to go toe to toe with a badger, underground, in a confined space!

My dog is called a mini dobermann 5 times a day on average. He loves dachshunds, they're amongst the rare dogs that he can look at from above

I once heard them described as "a can do attitude in a can't do body".

So cute. Is he a min pin?

He's an English Toy Terrier, they look very similar to Min Pins, and as far as I know, they share the same "big dog in a small body" attitude

They’re gorgeous. If I was to get another dog and for some reason couldn’t have a dachshund, I’d try and find an ETT, though I believe they’re a breed with very low numbers.
