Would you count this as overbearing behaviour from a dog owner?

Saw this post on reddit from someone working as a dog sitter. Here is the link. They were looking after someone's dog. The dog's owner was texting them constantly for hours. Constantly asking for updates about what the dog was doing, asking for photos of the dog, asking when the dog has peed or pooed, asking where the dog is sitting, telling them to always be petting the dog. 😂

If you left your dog with someone, would you ever behave like that, constantly messaging the dog sitter asking for updates etc? It just seemed excessive to me.

Maybe they've never left the dog before and were very anxious about it. I think the dog sitter is actually being very mean. I wouldn't be happy about them doing this at all. All my sympathies are with the owner because if you're the type of person that never leaves your dog it's very hard. I'd actually be upset at the sitter doing this.

Depends how much they are paying them. But I would imagine the dog owner is being unreasonable and not paying adequately for the service they require.

Bat shit the way people treat dogs these days.

Bonkers.
I would not be happy with that sort of micromanaging at all.

I left mine with a pet sitter.
I messaged after an hour and a half to ask if they had settled. Then a couple of times a day to check they were alright and to ask for photos.
They also messaged me at random times to share things the dogs had been up to.
I like to think that's a normal amount of checking in.
That amount of messaging seems a little excessive, but it's a bit unprofessional to share screenshots of them all on the Internet.

It's the bit where the owners says "he's anxious lol"

yeah no shit!! Wonder where he picks that up from 😂

I was all ready to side with the owners until I read those pages and pages of micromanaging madness.

Oh my god! I’m a dog sitter via rover app.
With new dogs I send daily photos, sometimes twice daily, but dogs and dog owners I now know well… every couple of days with several photos so they don’t feel the need to reply when they are on holiday or on business trips.
This is so nuts… I’d not dog sit for that family ever again unless it was mega bucks.
I actually didn’t read all of the screenshots as there was SO many!
