My poor 14yr old cocker is poorly.
He cant seem to poo and I thought I found a mass lump in his stomach last night. Overnight he pooed loads downstairs (he keeps doing this) and this morning I couldnt feel the lump. No poo today though and his stomach feels hard again.
He paces around which he has been doing for a little while and tonight hasnt come upstairs to the lounge and is just laying in his bed. He is eating a bit and drinking too.
I have an appointment with the vet tomorrow and just wondering what they will say or do.

So sorry Flowers
Don’t panic, it may well be ok.

Flatandhappy · 24/06/2025 01:44

That sounds really stressful but I would try not to overthink it until you see the vet. We took our 13yo cocker six months this ago, convinced it was “the end” but he is now on anti anxiety meds and something for his arthritis and is still pootling around happily despite being totally blind and deaf. Let us know how you go,

Annascaul · 24/06/2025 09:23

How is he this morning, op?
Hope all is well.

So sorry. We had to do the same for our dog too earlier in the year. It's heartbreaking, but you did the right thing for him.
Be kind to yourself x

Annascaul · 25/06/2025 08:23

Ah, sorry op. That’s hard.

RabbitsRock · 25/06/2025 08:26

So sorry OP 😢 Our furry friends sure get right into our hearts. Be gentle with yourself & try to remember that it was the best thing for your doggy even though it doesn’t feel like it now. Thinking of you 🐾🐾🐾🐾
