Could I have anyone’s recommendations for over the counter flea/ tick treatments, was thinking maybe tablets more than the pipettes, anyone used?

I'd love to recommend but unfortunately all the over the counter/off the shelf treatments no longer seem to work.

Bravecto from the vets would be my recommendation.

Advocate is my choice, prescription from the vet and buy it online from Animed

Vet nurse here - don't waste your time and money.
Get prescription only from your vet and dose it consistently , if you don't want to give it for 12 months of the year start now and at least carry on well into the Autumn when flea infestations often flare up again particularly if the weather is both warm and damp.
You may benefit from joining your vets health scheme where you spread the cost by paying monthly or at the time of the consult ask the vet to write in your notes that they authorise the product for 12months which means you can call up to get a repeat within 12months without vet needing to see the pet, then either buy product direct from the vet or buy a written prescription from them and get it cheaper from an online supplier.
I have many years experience in my job and hear repeatedly the same situation and questions as yours , i get quite annoyed at the absolute crap products available over the counter in pet shops ,supermarkets etc that absolutely do not work and the vast amount of money the manufacturers of such products must make ,all the time knowing what shite they are selling.
In the time people are using/waiting to see if these products are working the fleas in the home -of which 95% live in your home environment😱are breeding like mad and your problem can then take 3 - 6 months to get on top of due to the life cycle of the fleas development.
Alternatively instead of this horror use a veterinary POMV product routinely or at the moment you discover fleas and you will get things under control quickly.

Frontline used to be prescription only, worked fine

then I went to Bravecta after people said Frontline was now over the counter and I assumed it stopped working

recently gone back to it, seems fine (and I’m not near the vets anymore so needed something quick)
