We noticed yesterday that our 4 year old labradors stomach was swollen and when we weighed her she was 6kg heavier then the last time she was weighed (in November).

We took her to the vets today who have done ultrasound scan and needle aspiration and obtained some pink serum fluid. They say she has free fluid over her spleen and liver. She had bloods taken but they've all come back normal.

If you look at her, you wouldn't think anything is wrong except she's been off her food a tad.

We had two options - explorative surgery to see what is going on or to be sent to a specialist hospital for more diagnostics/specialist input. The specialist hospital can only get us in on Friday at the earliest and for now she is comfortable and does not appear to be in any pain or discomfort.

I'm not sure what to think or what her prognosis may be.

She saved me from a dark place and is a wonderful companion.

Has anyone got any experience of this?
