I’m not but my mum is I could ask her for you

Thank you @heartbrokenmum1 I have a 6 month old pup - large breed. Used a dog groomer for the first time on Friday. When I went to pick him up she made a comment about he messed around and wouldn’t stay still when she was “shaving his balls”. His privates weren’t noticeable before as he is a long hared breed.

The poor dog can’t settle or sit down since as his privates are red and sore looking so much so that we had to put sudo cream on them to give him some peace.

My question is it to shave this area and so closely and is it normal for a dog to be in such discomfort after grooming? I feel so sorry for him.

I will text her now and ask her her. She’s not the fastest to respond though. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back xx

I have a 2 year old intact dog and he's never had any problems after a groom, take your puppy somewhere else. He might need to get checked out by the vet if he doesn't heal

His groomer cuts rather than shaves the area,

Not a groomer and never used one, but I wouldn't be going back to one who described my dog as 'messing around'. He was clearly uncomfortable and it's part of her job to ensure he isn't.
