We are utterly in love!

She’s doing really well and we’ve had no toilet accidents indoors in 3 days now, she’s learnt her name and to sit already and she’s sleeping 5 hours consistently overnight!

She is however VERY bitey! We’ve been stopping the game / play / stroke when she bites to try and reinforce no attention if biting but it’s constant and she goes back to being bitey seconds later. It’s only been 5 days so it’s still early days.

Have signed her up for puppy classes for once she’s fully vaccinated and looking forward to this. She’s so intelligent I’m sure she will learn quickly once she develops an attention span longer than 3 seconds.

She’s great with the cats, it definitely helps that her breeder had cats! One cat has started to relax around her and will sit close but not touching. The other cat has retreated upstairs and is taking longer to come round. They’ve both lived with dogs before so I’m sure they will be fine in time.

Have the cats come round yet? The one in the photo looked very unimpressed :)

One of them has and will now happily let her approach and lick her. The other one is getting better and will sniff Bonnie while she’s sleeping but wants to be nowhere near her when she’s awake.

They’ve both lived with a dog before but not for the last 3 years and the younger cat (who has come round quickly) got on well with our last dog whereas the older one (taking a bit longer) was more happy to exist in the same space as him but didn’t snuggle or play with him so we expected her to take a bit longer.

We have a safety gate on the stairs so the cats have upstairs as their safe space if they want to retreat but they are mostly spending time downstairs in their high up spaces watching her. Until it’s zoomies times and then they want nothing to do with her.
