Rescue dogs - tell me it gets better!

I've taken on two rescue dogs just 2 weeks ago (lurchers) and I adore them, but oh wowee are they exhausting!

I know I'm in for the long haul (3-6 months until they start to settle) but pleaseee tell me it gets less tiring as we all settle into our new lives?!

I've had rescues before but only one at a time and I think I've forgotten if it was quite this tiring.

I could sleep for a week!!

Yes, it will get better. Well, it should get better, that is to say it normally gets better, we will a bit of hard work it probably gets better.
On a serious note, yes things will get better as they get used to you and settle down. It what why are they tiring?

I think it all depends on the dog I suppose, it will get better but when is anybody's guess. We've had our rescue for almost 10 years and she was super shy and anxious at first but she seemed to settle quite quickly, it was men she was more wary of, didn't like them

Probably the 4.30am daily wake up calls 😂 BUT I'm so lucky they sleep through from 10pm until then.

I'm toilet training them so treating like puppies with very regular toilet breaks, also very different needs with them both (one very energetic & the other terrified & shut down) takes a bit of juggling.

I do worry and overthink EVERYTHING I'm doing too, making sure they're happy & settled.

I don't mind it one bit, they're amazing, but after 2 weeks it's catching up with me. I need a big nap!
