Dog bed recommendations? Something well made, and also washable

I’m looking for a dog bed that will last for years and years. My dog’s last one got ripped up and a bit ratty after 2/3 years.

Because I want something really good quality, I’m willing to spend a decent amount - as long as it’s built to last and also really easy to wash the covers. That’s a must.

There’s almost too much choice and I’m confused!

Recommend me an excellent dog bed! It’s for a cocker spaniel - so a medium-sized dog.

Tuffies. Great beds. I'd go for a large for a cs to give the dog a bit more room. Will last for years and easy enough to clean.

I bought my Lab and springer a Ruff and Tumble bolster bed last year. Plus two towelling covers each. Absolutely brilliant and look good in the sitting room too.

Another Tuffies fan.
Covers wash well, and the inner is waterproof so you can hose it down or give a thorough wipe with a wet cloth if it needs it.

Last bloody ages.

I met the lady from this company at a show last year. I was really hesitant as one of our rescue dogs had 'just about' finished his ripping beds up stage, and - for big breeds like mine - it was a big purchase. I needed to get something though because he is a very muscular dog, all of his cheaper memory foam beds just flattened and he couldn't get comfortable so I chanced it and I honestly think they are the best beds we've ever tried! He has clawed at the top cover so I am about to replace that but if it hadn't had that top cover he would have scratched through into the bed itself.

I bought an ikea cot mattress for my dog. I put fitted sheets and a duvet over it - all very easy to wash and very cheap.

Honestly the best dog beds I’ve ever used were cot mattresses. Good quality and not easily chewable. I bought waterproof mattress protectors and then cot sheets on top. Easy to wash, Easy to replace and not easily chewable. No complaints from either of my dogs. The mattresses I have were also free as there’s no secondhand market for them.

Strangely one of the best brands I've bought was Aldi's. I had three dobermann, a whippet and 2 small collie crosses, the first time in seen them in Aldi I bought the medium size for the whippet (the beds were memory foam orthopedic with washable fleece covers) and it was a big success being used by all dogs so I bought some of the large size and years later they are still in use though sadly we've only got the two small dogs now, old age caught up with the others. The beds weren't expensive so if you see them in Aldi at any stage grab one even if it's just a spare.

Knuffelwuff, my dog hated his last few orthopedic beds because they tend to be a bit harder, but he LOVES this bed. Amazing quality. Another plus: the other dog didn't manage to destroy it as a puppy (and he tried).
