T-minus 6 days till our puppy comes home with us!

Our sweet golden retriever puppy Snoop Doug (we'll probably just call him Snoop) will be coming home with us on Sunday!!! I cant really think about anything else. We've got our playpens and shopping all sorted and this week is all about puppy proofing. I've longed for a dog all my life and this feels like a dream come true. His whole litter are just the most confident and contented little bunch and their mum is so friendly and lovely, I'm so happy we chose this breeder (and she chose us!). Have met grandma and aunty as well as the breeder has them too and they're all such lovely dogs. Annual leave booked, vet booked, puppy training booked. I think we're almost ready. I just wanted to come online and shout about it!!!

Name changed for this so I keep my non-dog related stuff separate.

How exciting! Our little GR is now 6 months old and has settled so well into our family. Its been 14yrs since we last had a puppy so I had forgotten quite how much work they are but it's all totally worth it. This is our first GR and we are all absolutely smitten with her

Oh yes our goldie will find any puddle to wallow in, even on the driest day!

I know it's going to feel very different when I'm standing in the cold and the wet, but right now I love the idea of seeing my little four legged mate having a blast in a muddy puddle!

Oh so exciting, my bundle of cuteness is almost 4 and I love him so much. Like you I’d wanted a dog all my life. Puppy stage is tough though! But it’s worth it x

They are the best dogs. never met a truly troublesome one. So friendly, biddable, and easy going:

the only downsides are hair, mud, mud, mud, mud, fox poo, stubbornness and food obsession but they are all relatively easy to manage. Apart from the mud.

you won’t regret it!

@LandSharksAnonymous we are in the car on the way home with him. He's GORGEOUS! Not been carsick (yet). Obviously tired but also cautious and wanting to see and sniff everything he is near. Keeps putting his paws and head in my lap. I'm in love. Photo from before we set off.

You'd think after so many litters of my own I'd stop loving Goldie puppies so much...but one can never have too many photos of them!

So far he's been an absolute poppet. Woke me up at 12 and 2.30 last night which I thought was pretty decent, and settled back down to sleep quite quickly. Up at 5.55 this morning and then settled back to sleep around 8 for a little snooze, then slept 10-11 and 11.20-12.30, and just fallen asleep again. Having a little play with his rustle toy in between and eating and drinking well. Poos out on the garden, all his wees have been inside so far but thats ok. Am totally in love.

Oh op congratulations. On Friday I had to say goodbye to my 14 year old goldie. They are fantastic dogs. There is a big dog shaped hole in my life now.
