Over 100 dogs rescued ...

I am not affiliated with them but wanted to share this from -
West Wales Poundies Dog Rescue

I've omitted the donation details as not sure if that's allowed but people can look on the website which I have included.

It's fantastic they have been rescued but distressing that their lives so far have been in hellish conditions.

How can anyone with a conscience be involved with a puppy farm?

Their words -

📢🐾 Over 100 Dogs Rescued – A Massive Effort by a Small Team - We Need Your Support! 🐾📢

On Tuesday we had a call asking us to assist the local authority to remove a large number of dogs from an alleged illegal breeder.

As usual, we had limited space available at the kennels and we knew this was a big ask but we always do our best to help where needed. We always find these situations stressful and this one was no different.

Most of the dogs were absolutely terrified and would do anything to get away from us. They had no idea what was happening and although their situation was far from ideal it was the only life they’d known. They didn’t understand we were there to help 💔

We finally removed 108 dogs in total, 47 of which went straight to our friends at Greenacres Rescue who took the dogs at extremely short notice…..followed by another 10 yesterday!! They never fail to help us in an emergency, so thank you Mikey!

So... we somehow made room for the extra dogs, big thank you to the fantastic small kennel team that work so hard behind the scenes at WWP (all 5 of them!!) They worked late into the night to accommodate all that needed our help.

The final count left us with 24 adults and 27 pups, a mixture of Cocker spaniels, Westies, Bichons, Shitzu’s, Yorkies and their crosses.

Now the hard work begins, we have arranged a visit from our wonderful vets at Seren Vets to give them all a basic health check etc, next will be the mammoth task of neutering all the adults.

All of the adults need grooming to make everyone look and feel more comfortable and of course our regular groomer Wendy was only to happy to assist!! Many of the dogs are extremely matted and unkempt and in dire need of some tlc.

As you can imagine an operation of this size will cost our small charity thousands. All of the dogs need medical attention, vaccinating, chipping, worming, neutering and obviously feeding which will all come at a cost.

So we're sorry to have to get our begging bowl out once again but needs must and these dogs were really in need 😢

So if anyone can spare anything, no matter how small to help with the ongoing cost of their care we’d be extremely grateful for your support and contribution to our this massive challenge 🙏

At the moment we all feel very overwhelmed, sad but relieved we now have them in our care, these situations always leave our small team feeling emotional as well as physically drained 😢

We can now go about transforming their lives so they will no longer be used to make money, they are worth so much more than that. 🥰🏡

Some of these dogs have a long road ahead but we will make sure they will now be loved unconditionally and live the life they so deserve 🩷

It's on their Facebook page. I'm not OP but just had a look.

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 04/04/2025 22:38

Poor wee things. They look so scared.

redboxer321 · 05/04/2025 09:16

Thanks @LoveDandelions
I figured it must be on FB but I try to stay away from FB as much as possible!
I know of WWP but no direct experience but I can't see they are doing anything but good so will donate.

Freysimo · 06/04/2025 14:27

WWP are well respected. Some of the dogs have gone to my local rescue, Greenacres, and I've sent them a donation.

The government and councils MUST stop this indiscriminate breeding. It's quite unfair that rescues have to pick up the pieces when councils hand out breeding licences (if breeder bothers to get one) to all and sundry.

The pandemic created a demand and now dog ownership is at saturation point.
