thinking Of going this year as it looks like a wonderful event that I’m sure we’d enjoy.
But I’m the queen of overthinking so have many questions.

Anyone been and enjoyed/hated the experience?

I took a friend and her dog last year because I was offered free tickets from my pet insurance provider.

It was fine, not something I'd pay for but I didn't hate it. There were lots of stalls selling 'dog stuff' like coats, food, treats, shampoo etc, plus food and drink stalls.

Dog was a bit bemused and wouldn't co-operate when we tried to get him to do the agility course but it was at a local stately home/country park so could find a quieter area let the dog have a run around and my friend also got him a new harness for a decent enough price and a few free treats.

I went to the knebworth house dogfest for the first time last year and had a great time. I haven’t bought any tickets yet, but I think we’ll probably go again this year.

We’d be going to Knebworth house so good to hear you had a lovely time.

was it really busy, were there quieter areas you could take your dog if it all got a bit much?

I ask because our dog is generally fine, but being a Weimaraner he can occasionally get sensory overload!

he’s generally great in busy places but just concerned he may at times either become a bit ‘bored’ and decide to be an absolute arsehole (in the nicest possible way)

Haven't been myself but my brother goes with his two dogs (lurchers) and really enjoys it.

Had exactly the same experience as this. even down to buying a new harness and treats 😂! Would I pay full price probably not, but was an excuse to have a long weekend in Bristol.

We went a few years ago, with a deal on tickets. Can't remember how much but it was less than half price.

It was ok but I wouldn't go again and would have been annoyed if we'd paid full price.

I went the first time this year. Not going again. Judges was all biased. Anything doodle and cockers was always placed. Never any other breeds. Everything that isn't fluffy is looked over. Sure if you got a doodle or cocker then go. Otherwise I wouldn't waste your time. Worst dog show I've attended.

I went to the one in Scotland 2 years ago. It was a good day out other than the Doberman with freshly cropped ears walking around with his owner. Poor beast. Loads of people were talking about it on the day. I’ve no idea how he was allowed in as it was quite tightly controlled entrance. Disgusting when sspca and dogs trust were there. I emailed dog fest after and never got a response. shock. Anyway other than that it was good, lots of activities and loads of stuff to buy. Food selection wasn’t great if I remember rightly but that will vary by location I guess.
