Chewing cushion covers

One of my dogs has started chewing the corners on 2 cushion covers. He's never touched any before ( we've had him 4.5 years) and it's only 1 design that I bought 3 months ago to replace a couple of worn ones. He's just started doing it in the last coupleof weeks. I now need to replace the 2 but want to try and work out why to try and make sure the new ones don't get the corners chewed off before I do. Any ideas? His routine and diet haven't changed.

Is his teeth OK? Are the corners quite pointy they might look like they are ripe for chewing if they are pointy ? When you catch him doing it swap it for something he can chew.

Mine chewed the corners of one cushion when he was a pup but he's stopped and I've managed to get new covers without him bothering with them.

Corners are quite rounded. Had jabs and a check up last week and there were no issues. He's 7 so well past the pup stage. When he's been caught he isn't interested in a swap just rolls over wanting forgiveness.

I reckon it just feels nice to him or maybe because they are new? Mine is a bugger for a tea towel !
Dogs are the reason we can't have nice things 😀

Probably attention seeking. My dog licks the glass in the patio doors, then looks proud when I tell him off!

@Coffeeishot good job we love them! Luckily I got these cushions in the January sales so at least they were cheap.
This is the guilty party with a replaced cushion. Fur fabric not a good option when you have to wash dog hairs off.
