Puppy food daily feeding guideline - have I read this right?!!

Sooo

Pup is 3 months old and just under 2kg. He's been on Burns Puppy food which indicates 40g per day for this age and weight. Which he hoovered down. Been to vet's recently and his weight gain is all good.

Changing tomorrow to a Eukanuba puppy food and, if I've read the guideline properly he should have 150g a day ... that's more than three times the food amount he had yesterday Confused kibble pieces are almost identical in size

Have I read this correctly?

Yes, you're reading that right.

The difference might be that the Eukaneuba contains less calories etc than the Burns so need more of it.

You're probably already aware of not changing a dogs food suddenly. But doing it gradually over the course of a week to avoid upset tummy.

Hello! Yes ... I've been mixing it together for about 10 days now gradually adding more of the new one.

Thanks ... he'll think it's Christmas when he sees the size of his portions tomorrow!

Hoping his poos don't now grow accordingly Grin

It all depends on how much filler the food contains. I switched my dog to raw mince instead of processed food and she gets just over 1% of her bodyweight a day. This looks miniscule compared to what she was getting before but she's much healthier on it and she rarely has to remind me when it's dinnertime. Just keep monitoring his weight and adjust his portions accordingly.
