Cherry eye op

My dog has to have a cherry eye op. I have been invited to a work breakfast the next day.

Will my dog be ok to be alone for a couple of hours if I go to the work breakfast?

I'd like to say yes to the work thing BUT not if my dog is going to be sad or in need of me being there.

I'd love to hear from anyone whose dog has had this - about what the recovery is like.

I definitely wouldn’t be leaving my dog after such a big surgery but particularly any ocular surgery. Maybe after a few days, but definitely not the next day.
