PSA do not give stick treats unattended

We had an unpleasant experience last night where a chicken stick treat got vertically stuck in dogs mouth which caused his jaw to be clamped open. It was horrible to see him panic. The whole thing didn’t last long as Dh managed to use his fingers to wiggle the treat loose. But it took us a second to work out what the cause was.

I will supervise him eating the treats moving forward and will pick up any half eaten ones and give them back to him when he can be watched

My dog is never left alone really (house full of adults) but the idea of a dog having the same thing happen to them when alone is too sad a thought

Thanks for reading.

Really they shouldn't have any treats or anything while unattended. I'm glad your dog is okay.
