Pup is otherwise good in the car but has been sick a couple of times on longer trips. Any tips on how to manage it?

Our vet prescribed a 1/4 tablet of prochlorperazine for our pup. The same med I used it when I was seasick! Only used it once and the dog has never been sick in the car since!

Sorry, not helpful, but a bump to someone who might have more advice.

Mine outgrew travel sickness fairly quickly.

My dog had terrible travel sickness when younger (she's a rescue so not sure exactly how old she is). She grew out of it after a year or so. We tried a few things like ginger biscuits but nothing really worked for us. Hang in there though and it will get better.

They can definitely grow out of travel sickness. My pup could manage about 30 minutes at first. I tried walking her and not feeding too close to travelling. I gave her Johnsons travel sickness pills ( ginger based) in the summer and she went from Cornwall to Bideford with no problems. She's never been sick since. Now 14 months old. So not sure if the tablets worked or she just grew out of it.

Thank you! Hopefully she will grow out of it but will try the pills

Probabaly not the way to cure it, but one of my previous pups had to make a two day journey to the north of Scotland at the age of 5 months. Prior to that even short journeys were impossible. And we did spend the first 30 miles stopping to clear up. But after that he was cured! Never car sick again in 16 + years...
