Hi

Has anyone heard of this? I can't find anything on Google?

Am looking at a trainer (whose beliefs really touches a chord with me) who trained using this ...?

The "main " one seems to be IMDT?

I know qualifications aren't everything, but just want to know that's it's not just made up iyswim 🫨

Thanks pup people 🙂

Sheila Harper.com? If it's that I'd run a mile...

IME anyone who has to rely on preaching their 'studies' isn't someone I would use tbh. The best trainer I know is an ex-vet nurse with no formal 'qualifications' but over 50 years of working with dogs.

Others will disagree, but word of mouth is the best way to find a competent trainer - as it is with finding a good breeder.

I'd agree.

I came across someone who had qualified with IMDT. Lovely person, loved dogs, but her own were terrible on the lead and at least one had appalling recall.

Thanks both!

With respect I wasn't asking for opinions on any particular trainer, i believe we can all learn something from everyone.

How do you find a good trainer/behaviourist though?

Please do not suggest Facebook, I'd rather recommendations from people I know - but my dog circle is non existent due to the fact he's a dog selective rescue mutt 🫨

Scratch my last comment, I'll speak to the vet.

That seems the best course of action 👍

The trainer I found through word of mouth was not great and I wouldn't recommend to anyone else - they were apdt registered. The two IMDT trainers we've used in contrast were very good, one more pet focused, the other gundog focused. The latter's dogs are FTAW too.
