Hi all the vets thinks our beloved family pet has trachea cancer. She only 8 she had 160 ml of fluid drained off her lungs today they only could do an X-ray and an ultrasound and advice to take her home they said she will only have a few days at most me and my children are devasted. I’m just wondering did/ does any one else dog have anything like this with fluid build up in lungs and was the outcome? I just don’t know weather to get a second option at the vet hospital but it cost around €3,000 & still might not have a good outcome😭 thanks

I'm so sorry. This doesn't sound good at all. Even if it's not tracheal cancer, which it sounds like it is, fluid on the lungs is a very bad sign. It's really hard to hear but her prognosis is grave. Try to enjoy your cuddles with her, but she might deteriorate rapidly. Be careful not to wait too long before taking her to the vet for a peaceful end.

I'm so sorry and yes fluid build up is never a good sign, my beloved boy had a heart murmur and his lungs filled with fluid, we rushed him to the vet they cleared his lungs put him on a shed load of medication which made him incontinent, we took him to the specialists he was under for his heart and they gave us a very bleak out look and more pills, but ultimately he was already on borrowed time and wasn't happy so we had to make the heart breaking decision too let him go, it's so so hard when it comes out of nowhere, take care of yourself and your kids.
