Puppy & running

I'll be fostering a puppy for 4 weeks, a 4.5 month old small collie cross.

I'm training for a marathon with long runs planned, so rather than leave the pup home alone, is there a backpack or something I can put him in to take him with me?

He's way too young to run alongside with me for any length at all.

I don't think the pup would be very comfortable in a backpack if you are running.
