Best sofa for Dog hairs

I need to replace my old battered sofa, however my dog sheds hair like crazy and we all end up covered in hair if we sit on the sofa.

I don’t want to limit DDog in his twilight years, it seems unfair after ten years to stop him sitting on the sofa.

Is there a material that allows the hairs to just be swept off? I was thinking leather?

I’ve tried throws and they just end up covered in hair that goes everywhere instead.

I just use a lint roller on my sofas - does a wonderful job picking up the dog hairs. Go over it twice a day, two x 3seaters, it’s a two minute job if that!

I have velvet sofas - probably not the best choice with dogs tbf, but the roller is a miracle worker.

We have a textured tweedy-type fabric which is much better than our other (velvet) one. I think linen or textured would probably be best but it's hard to say.

We had a Habitat sofa bed that seemed to grip the hair and never let it go! It was a nightmare if the dog so much as walked past it!
