Hey all

Tried rescuing a dog but they all say my gate needs to be higher. I'm only looking for a small dog preferably a shih tzu, lhasa, bichon, Yorkshire terrier or minature poodle. I've reassured supervision at all times. I've added safety gate to stop dog bolting out of the house. Any ideas for making gate taller? I'm in a council rented house. If this fails then I'll look for a puppy. Any ideas of good breeders in the east Midlands? Or rescued to try. Thanks

Just replace the gate or attach something to it , trellis or something like that- as long as you keep the old one or whatever you attach can be removed the council won’t particularly care IME.

Its also not as much as keeping your dog in as stopping other dogs getting to your dog. So the fact you want a small dog is irrelevant. Other dogs could jump over the gate to get to our dog.
