Hello my fabulous Podsquad, here is Podcast Thread III.

For anyone that is new to this thread, it's about my rescue dog, known as Pod.

for if anyone would like to go back and see how astonishingly naïve and traumatised I was by taking on a fully grown, teenaged pointy dog who seemed determined to destroy me and everything I love.

Theatrics over, here is the Pod in question (obviously I've edited the lead out - I'm not mental).

They do look a lot like wotsits..

I ate one once.

They are not a replacement for wotsits, I can tell you.

Our last dog - not a rescue, with us from a puppy and wanted for nothing- would also ‘bury’ food if he didn’t want it. He’d push it under a rug or under my bedside table (he always got a snack at bedtime). It was quite cute.

I hope he's none the worse for it?

Kenneth gave good and noble service to Pod.

Was it one that smelled like popcorn? Can’t blame him. They smell pretty tasty. At least it was a dissolvable one and he won’t get a blockage.

Kenneth will be okay. A few stitches and a wash and he’ll still be good for playing and cuddling with.

You’re gonna need another Kenneth.

I think those packing peanuts are made of cornstarch.

Well MILs birthday went off without a hitch thanks to the test coming through from the vet and kennels accepting him. And thank GOD because all of the following would have spelled disaster:

• it was in a small room
• the birthday cakes were laid out on a small table at Pod height
• there were many balloons and banners
• there was a lot of food and sitting around talking
• DPs 11 y.o DN is in fact TERRIFIED of dogs (we went back to MILs briefly after and she has two dopey spaniels and DN was hiding behind her parents)
• there were cowskin rugs on the floor

I was 1000% right, Pod in that situation would have been total carnage.

I'm now back home wondering if Pod is ok. He practically took my arm off he was so eager to get in this morning but I imagine he's a bit lonely now. His Pod friend Fastest is there tonight too so I expect theyve had a grand old time. I really miss him. Pic of Pod looking stunning just because.

Pod definitely was better off where he was.

He will be so happy to see you!

Urghhh doom by longline.

With hindsight it possibly wasn't the best idea to take Pod longlining after 24 hours of Pod and Fastest Girl running around, to quote the kennel lass directly, "like dogs on crack".

Who new a couple of centimetres of plastic could be enough to take your boot clean from under you.

Due to aforementioned stupid ridiculous syndrome I usually need an x-ray after falls like that but I think I will risk it what with it being a Sunday (football injuries increasing usual A&E wait by at least three hours).

But oh my poor poor bottom.

I am still sore with a bruised coxyx after three weeks thanks to being taken out by my nobhead dog

So sorry to hear about your fall, Hanging 😞

And just after you wisely averted a stressful birthday visit with MIL and Pod!

I hope Mr Hanging is around to help, maybe your boy should be going on a few walks with his dad until you're feeling better 🙂

I just got a reel sent to me from the rescue lady saying it's a year to the day that he was taken into the shelter in Spain. They said he was about four months. Meaning Pod could actually be quite a bit younger than we thought! Potentially only 16 months old!

Oh and the reel was all puppy pictures of baby Pod!!

Aw bless him he looks nervous and the ground is not puppy friendly - no grass or things to sniff 😢

It must be tough for you to see him like that when he was such a little baby, Hanging. The transformation into a happy, confident hound is all down to you and Mr Hanging, you've changed everything for your special boy 😍
