My wee jack russell is near 12 years old. She has had nothing but issues with her ears to the point they are now bald vets say there is nothing that can be done apart from steroids and keep them clean which has stopped them getting real bad but she has now scratched herself stupid bald spots on her sides her paws are red raw she is also very skinny even though she is eating also drinking a lot more. She doesn't play as much and spends most of her time in her bed. I am at the vest on Thursday and just wanted to see if I should maybe start to think if it's time to let her go I hate the thought of her suffering. Before anyone asks all her flea and worm treatments are up today along with her vaccines.

What does she eat OP? Has she had treatment for allergies? As it's likely an allergy to her diet or something in her environment that's causing the itching and sore ears(if illnesses have been ruled out). My little dog has allergies but I manage it by making sure she only eats food that suits her, otherwise she'd have terribly itchy ears and skin.

12 years old isn't that old for a Jack Russell if she's in good health otherwise, so it might be worthwhile changing her diet.
