Gahh dog has eaten Christmas pudding

First off, because I know this is the first thing people will say - he is already at the vet now with DH.

He's just eaten 3/4 of a large Christmas pudding out of a pedal bin with a flat flush top that he still managed to open (anyone want to guess what breed he is?)

He's at the vet now, and was there within 25 mins of eating it. Please give me good news stories of when your dogs have done this...? I'm hoping as we realised so quickly that vomiting will sort it?

Yes Pet plan covers this kind of incident, I know because my spaniel puppy ate grapes. On a Sunday. One grape swallowed whole as evidenced by the induced vomiting. £300's worth of grape.

My lab has been to the vet to vomit for
Onions - dh fault for leaving them out
Poo bags filled with cat poo from litter tray (OOH vet)
Slice of fruit cake.
Insurance has always paid!

Cocker spaniel five months old. We thought she'd swallowed a 'healing' crystal as couldn't find it where we knew we'd left it and she'd accidentally had access to the room it was in. Drove to our of hours vet cos it was Sunday (it's always Sunday). Induced vomiting produced nothing. X rays revealed nothing but vet wasn't sure if crystals show up on X rays. So I paid £290 and took her home with advice to keep an eye on her poos. As soon as we got home I spotted the crystal winking at me from under the edge of a wardrobe. She must have picked it up from the low table it had been on, heard us shouting for her and dropped it. Dogs! Who'd have 'em?

I've just been told that the vet said he had to be pulled away from re-eating all the Christmas pudding that came out of him. What a champion lab... 🤯🤣

My Lab Welly would have 100% also tried to re-eat it. For such a handsome boy he is a real filthbag.

Aw I'm glad he's OK! They do like to worry us don't they.
Our german shepherd we had when I was growing up once ate a sizable portion out of a pair of jeans.

I have two labs, one of which would absolutely do this given half the chance hence the bin now lives in the locked porch which is a pain in the arse but saves the stress!! The other spent the first year of her life swallowing anything fabric she could get her chops on including multiple socks, hair scrunchies, face cloths, flannels, cleaning cloths...stupid dog! Still wouldn't change them for the world! Glad yours is ok after the bin diving adventure!
