Puppy teeth

When did your pup get their adult teeth through? I've recently adopted a puppy thought to be about 5 months old now, and he has no sign of adult teeth coming through and I suspect he might be a bit younger. When I adopted my older dog they told me she was around 3 months, but as she started getting her canines shortly after, her vet agreed she was more like 5 months at least. I'm sure there's probably variety anyway and it doesn't really matter but I'm still curious to know! Here's a photo of the sleep thief

Tend to lose puppy teeth between 5-7 months.

That dog looks very young for five months.

@coffeesaveslives that's what I think, I think 4 months at most, but a vet who has seen him several times has him at 5 months in his passport. He was a very sick pup and the smallest of the litter also

@DrNowt is he an overseas import? I don't want to generalise but it's not uncommon for these dogs to come in on false documents.

@coffeesaveslives no, he's non UK but we're in his country. I don't suspect any foul play, I'm just curious about his age and development. His passport was made in front of me and his rescuer, by a vet

He's very cute but does look young - but if he was the runt then it's possible he's just a bit behind where he should be. We had a cat who was similar and she looked like a kitten her entire life!

I think mine had most of his baby teeth fall out by five months and the adult teeth were coming in. It probably varies with breed and health a bit but not hugely so I reckon he is probably younger. Have you asked that vet about his teeth?

Mine has all of his adult teeth now at 5.5 months. He lost them all pretty quickly from about 5 months onwards. They are much less sharp now which is a relief 😅
