Fleas!!!!

So we saw a flea on dogs stomach 3 weeks ago. She's a black lab so it's hard to tell but we groomed her thoroughly and shampooed and flea treated her. Found no more fleas with both of us looking. I washed her bedding at 60 and the rug she uses on the sofa.

3 weeks later I've got 21 flea bites on me. We can't find the buggers. Dog has been treated for a second time and doesn't seem to have any. We've taken all the cushions off all the sofas and vacuumed and sprayed them. Washed bedding and blankets again on high. Vacuumed and washed the rug twice (hard wood floors otherwise).

I've stripped and vacuumed our bed as she slept up there occasionally, we are using a new duvet and pillows and all our bedding was washed at 90. I vacuum constantly. We've gone over every inch of the house with a literal bloody magnifying glass and haven't seen any more. And yet my ankles are bitten to buggery.

Anyone have any suggestions other than burning down the house and starting again?

Indorex for the house and Seresto for the dog. You need to keep her out of water though.

New flea eggs hatching. I second Indorex, spray the whole house in every nook and cranny and keep vacuuming every day forever.

Just googled the water thing. Yikes. She's a lab and we live near a lot of waterways that she's always jumping in. I've told DH to stop her which will be fun.

Indorex arriving tomorrow.
Just handed over £35 at the laundrette as I'm supposed to be working and all this washing is driving me and DH crazy. Laundrette have washed the rug again and the throws that go over the sofas and the duvet.
Fortunately we have one of those washable rugs. I've started just tumble drying it and it did shrink but only a cm or two!
It's so frustrating. We know the dog that has them as people have pointed them out to the owner but she lets the dog run wild in the park and play with all the other dogs and we've not been fast enough on occasion.

You can take it off for walks - I know people who do - but it is quite fiddly.

That's the only drawback with them. Otherwise we now find it's the only thing that works.

We get Simparica tablets from the vets and dose the dogs once a month. No fleas, and only one tick in literally years.
