How do I stop my 1 year old Border Terrier marking?
He doesn't do it at home, at all. He was in fact a dream to toilet train.
He went to a home boarder in the summer when we went away, no mention of marking but his visits have stopped because their 'circumstances' changed.
We tried a new home boarder this week, he was fine with her and her 2 dogs, it's clear she adores him but she said she will struggle to proceed with future stays because of his marking.
Today, a friend of mine he knows well had him for several hours, he marked 6 times! She has a lab around the same age so they know each other very well. I'm mortified he's been doing it at all!
I can't correct the behaviour as he just doesn't do it at home, ever.
I'm concerned that we will struggle for the ad hoc day care we may need or for when we go away - is the only option neutering?
