I’m hoping to rehome a second rescue dog. I already have a neutered terrier boy aged 5. He was introduced to a little JRT girl yesterday aged 2. She’s very sweet but was feisty with him and there was aggression over toys.
She’s also not speyed yet (I’d have to do that) or fully housetrained and would need help with recall.
My heart says yes but I’m not sure about my head. There’s an opportunity for her to come for a sleepover to evaluate them further.
Do you think it’s wise to consider an unspeyed bitch in my circumstances? And I really don’t want to risk putting my boy’s nose out of joint - it’s taken a while to get him to where he is as he was very hyper when I adopted him. On the other hand, he might benefit from a companion.
I did post recently about adopting a greyhound but the rescue turned me down because they thought my dog would be too lively.
Should I at least have her overnight to see how they get on?
