Old kibble

I have most of a 12kg bag of good quality kibble which I bought for my then dog back in May. It's been stored, opened, in a large metal drum. I now have a new DD and am wondering if the food is still OK. It looks and smells the same but I don't want to take any risks. Anyone know how long it's likely to be safe?

I wouldn't use it if it has been open since May.

I think "they" recommend using open kibble by 6 weeks (even that is pushing it tbh)
