Started licking her paw/lower leg a few days ago - just noticed yesterday it’s now got a bald patch - now bigger today. She’s my first dog and I usually rush off to the vet bit perhaps could treat for a day or 2 at home first. Any advice wrocome

I think that’d be a vet job if it was me tbh - it looks quite large and it’s clearly bothering her. Have you got an old cone or something to stop her licking in the interim? Or some antiseptic spray and a bandage at a push.

Try soaking the paw in a bowl of warm water with a bit of salt added.
will she let you look more closely at it incase she’s got something in there, a splinter or sharp bit of a plant or something. She could have been stung. Mine are picking up little bits of sharp conifer needles at present in their long coats so I check them carefully every time they’ve been out.

If it’s been going on a few days then it’s the vet.

I have used sudacrem with great effect but that’s when I’ve known it’s not needing treatment. If I’m not sure it’s a trip to the vet.

That looks like a hot spot - I'd want it seen before the weekend if possible. They can be treated at home but as it's been going on a few days you may need additional treatment.
