Sweet corn husks - be careful

If you walk your dog in the countryside please be aware of the dangers of sweetcorn husks being ingested. They can cause blockages and potentially be fatal. My friend is going through this and aside from the trauma the vets bill is close to 10k which outstrips their insurance.

Absolutely. Nearly killed my beloved cocker years ago. Fortunately the vets pulled him through but it was £6k then. He lived to a good age after that and left us last month after a lifetime of ingesting bad stuff!

The husks are everywhere in the countryside at the moment..

So glad your dog pulled through and lived to a good age. It's incredibly traumatic. My friends dog isn't out of the woods yet, just hoping for the best at the moment.

Sending best wishes for him/her. They are such a worry!

My dog ate a sweetcorn husk, and I managed to get her to the emergency vet within 2 hours so she had the injection to make her sick.
Husks go straight into the wheelie bin now.
