Keeping puppy warm

I have an Italian greyhound 4 month old puppy who is severely underweight due to illness. The vet is involved and we are finally on the right track: he is gaining weight and the sickness and diahorea seems to have stopped. The problem is he feels the cold. He has a fleece jumper and a very thick fluffy bed and blanket in side a crate with a cover on to stop drafts but he is still cold. Obviously it’s getting cold outside to although we limit his outside time due to his weight and he is currently not going on walks (vets advice). Anyone got any ideas?

Hot water bottle wrapped up in a blanket? Electric throw on a lower setting? Equafleece coats are fantastic.

When we had kittens in winter we used an electric blanket and put their bed by the radiator.

You can get plug in electric heated pads on Amazon, like you do for your bed but a smaller version.

My friend really rates the charleychau beds. Her Italian greyhound has the winter one and lives in it at the first sign of autumn/chilly weather. Cover comes off really easily to wash.

I use a plug in heat mat under their bed for very thin puppies which has a chew proof lead. Its left on all the time and keeps the bed lovely and cosy

I second Equafleece coats, they are great and keep the dogs really warm. They do various styles too to suit
