Neighbours dog poo

Neighbours garden pretty much looks like this. Stinks in summer, attracts flies and no doubt rats as well.
I feel sorry for the dog who probably can’t help treading faeces inside their house as well.
How do people live like this?

Is that photo actually your neighbours garden?
Our next door neighbours did the same for a long time. I told them I had seen rats in their garden that were wandering towards their house as a heads up (I hadn’t seen any rats really), they soon cleared it up.
Failing that, environmental health?

PoliticalPossum · 08/10/2024 11:06

Do they have children? If so, I'd be reporting them (somehow) to social services - possibly not a popular opinion, but IME they take these things pretty seriously. If the dog is lucky, it'll be re-homed along with any child living there.

If no child - environmental health.

CaptainBeanThief · 08/10/2024 11:08

That's rank.
The smell must be unbearable in summer 🤢 imagine that wafting in your house.
When I go into the park with my dog, in the summer particularly, the stentch of dog piss is overwhelming.
When mine poos in the garden I pick it up straight away.
That is vile

Yes, that is actually my neighbours garden.

I’m so disgusted that anyone could live in this way.
Imagine when it rains and spreads dog poo all over the patio which the dog walks over, and in to the house.

The dog is pretty aggressive and always barks through the fence when I’m mowing the lawn. I’m not sure if he gets taken out much.

Is that the extent of their "garden" or is there more? I feel desperately sorry for the poor dog. Some people have no shame 🤬

There is more. They sectioned off a third of their back garden (as shown in the photo), and the dog only has access to roam around in this area.

Poor dog. Do they have kids? If so, report to SS.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 08/10/2024 13:00

Urgh, that’s inexcusable. Can’t imagine the poor dog gets walked if it poohs that much outdoors. Vile people.

K0OLA1D · 08/10/2024 13:04

That's vile.

We have a dog and his poo is picked up no more than every other day. That's only if it's raining etc. In the summer it's picked up as he does it! That's weeks of shit.

My cat poos in the slate in my front garden and buries it and I go out and pick through that every other day for stray turds.

God knows what the inside of their house looks like. Do they own?

FastFood · 08/10/2024 13:10

Ha I have exactly the same neighbours. Horrible.

spiderlight · 08/10/2024 13:16

That's rank! Poor you, and poor dog having to live like that. If they're not approachable, I'd report them to environmental health.

IAmTheMiddleChild · 08/10/2024 17:57

If the dog is a bulldog then you have inherited my old neighbours. It really is vile that people actually live like this.

HornyHornersPinger · 08/10/2024 20:19

Do they rent or own? I had a neighbour like this and I sent a very similar photo to our housing association and she had to clear it up. If they own report to council.

I think they privately rent.
It's perhaps worth a word with the landlord as well - if I can hold of their contact details.

Oh, I'd definitely go via local council then as they'll have a name of someone responsible for the property! It's a health hazard never mind unsightly.
