When I got my puppy on Tuesday, I was told he had been flead and wormed and not due another dose until next week. He's just had a poo and there was a live worm in it. Little one. His vet appt isn't until next week but should i assume he isn't up to date and try get him in today??

If there are worms in his poo then that sounds like the wormer is doing its' job.

No if the wormer was doing it's job the worms in the poo would be dead.
I'd book him into the vet. A puppy with worms will need more frequent worming initially. They can advise appropriately.

Check with breeder that puppy definitely had wormer and what type and then ask vet what you should do. Also the breeder should know what to do, if they are reputable.

Yeah I thought because they are alive then the wormer isn't doing its job. I'm going to try and get him into the vets this morning

What wormer did the breeder use?

Might be worth contacting them and telling them that the wormer isn't working. They or vet are able to pass on the information to manufacturers.
