Car sickness in dogs

Does anyone have any experience of car sickness in dogs? Our beautiful boy is 14 moths old and the sickness shows no sign of stopping. We are due to go on holiday in two weeks and could quite easily take him with us if only he didn't puke every time we go more than two miles!

Yes. One of our girls was horribly carsick all her life from being a young puppy. Her half-sister, who we had at the same time, was a good traveller. We felt there was an element of excitement/anxiety with our girl; the sister was more calm about everything and literally never vomited.

It's a bit like with kids, some are overexcitable pukers and some aren't, some grow out of it but others unfortunately don't.

We used to give her Travel-Eze tablets an hour or two before we set off. They seemed to help for shorter journeys but on a long drive she would sometimes still be sick. It is a pain. I do sympathise.

Happy holiday anyway, vomiting dog notwithstanding ...🙁

Ask your vet to prescribe Cerenia - it works wonders. You only need to use it a few times and it really helps

Cerenia is the bee's knees
