Hi, we have a new cocker spaniel puppy. He’s really happy, bouncy and settling well, but he keeps having runny poos, but then goes back to normal
solid ones in between. Does anyone have any experience of this? The vet didn’t seem
bothered but I’m just concerned. He has just been and I think I could see a tiny spot of blood in it and am now completely paranoid he’s really poorly, even though he playing and running round as normal. He’s had one lot of vaccination and is booked for the second one in just over a week

It could be excitement or adrenaline.

Our beagle had this quite a bit as a puppy, especially after exercise or towards the end of a walk.

I would second what @sunsetsandboardwalks says. One of our boys used to get so excited about being on a walk that he would do 5 or 6 poos; they'd start out solid but get progressively softer until the last was like a blob of yellow ochre paint. Blooming nightmare to pick it up and we had to resort to taking pieces of kitchen roll and multiple poo bags! At home his garden poo's were fine.

I know it's worrying but just continue to keep an eye on him. Hopefully your vet is right and there is nothing seriously wrong.
