Has anyone's dog been prescribed this? Did it help with paw licking and scratching?

I was prescribed piriton for my lab. It definitely helps with the scratching.

Our Sylvie had Piriton for the same issue. Yes, it helped.

I was wondering if loratadine is prescribed in UK as it is in US and it's much cheaper
Everything I can see is that it's used widely and safe for dogs (as long as it's pure loratadine with nothing added)

My vet told me that Piriton (chlorphenamine Maleate) was the only antihistamine that dogs can tolerate so was surprised to see this. My staffie cross is always itchy, especially her feet, and she frequently gets hives/sits in ants nests/rolls in nettles etc and piriton usually helps.

I know this is google, and I'm not a vet but these are all from vetinary information sites.

But I think I'll just stick to piriton
