Puppy’s hurt foot

My 10 week old Italian greyhound has hurt his foot. Not sure how but noticed he was limping on his back leg this afternoon. Had a bit of a feel of the leg and he cried when I gently squeezed his foot. I have been watching him and he seems to be walking on it mostly fine (including running around with the zoomies several times) but will then randomly limp for a few minutes. It seem worst when he has just woken up. A but like a dead leg which then passes as he moves around.

My question is, does he need the vet tomorrow or is it a “wait and see” situation with it being so intermittent?

Personally I would wait and see . I tend to think if I stubbed my toe for example I would limp for a little while . I think the same about my dogs if they have a small injury it will probably sort it self in a day or two.
But I would be straight to the vet if they showed constant signs of pain .

Agree with PP!

If he’s fine in himself and still got the zoomies then I (personally) wouldn’t worry - and I’m a neurotic mess. Always at the vets.

But IGs are quite spindly/frail so you should watch his legs a bit - they’re very weak (for a long time) whilst they’re young. Don’t let him jump or get too many zoomies if you can (conscious that’s hard with a puppy!)

Most dogs - wait. Iggy - vets. They are so vulnerable to breaks.

I would get an Italian Greyhound seen sooner rather than later - they're so so fragile compared to other dogs and can hurt themselves so easily.

The problem is if you leave them to it and they do more damage in the meantime, the recovery could be so much longer.
