Cooling harnesses

My dog really struggles in the heat. He is so full of energy he needs at least a short walk every day.
Obviously we never take him when it’s really hot.
Also he needs to travel in the car twice a week for about 50 minutes so he has his harness on then too.

Are the cooling harnesses good for dogs? If so, I’d love some recommendations please.

No experience of the cooling harness, but l have two cooling mats for mine, and they work really well. Highly recommend.

What about a cooling coat? We had one for ours and it had a hole for a harness ring to go through. It worked brilliantly when we went away. I think it was a brand called Petface and we got it from Argos. You only need to wet it with cold water and ring it out and it stays cool for hours.

Thanks both.

He does have a mat that can be cooled in the fridge. I’m wary of using the gel filled ones as he’s a chewer. Are these the kind you mean please @VioletladyGrantham?

That sounds like the kind of thing @Beryls, I’ll have a look!

No, not for cooling in the fridge, but mine is a chewer too so l checked. Nothing toxic inside, and he seems to have realised it is for his benefit as he hasn't chewed so far!

Our dogs appreciate a cooling neckerchief. You can get them which are made of the stuff which are in cooking mats or you get ones which you soak in cold water then put around the neck
