Car safety outside of crate

Hi - I was just wondering what people use to travel safely with their dog in the boot when not using a crate?

Personally, I wouldn't be putting a dog in the boot (which is the crumple zone) without a proper crash-tested crate or guard - it's too dangerous.

I have a dog guard that attaches to the head restraints behind the back seat. Been using the method for over thirty years. Most cars don't have room for a crate.

You cant travel safely in a car without a crate. Everything else will be a compromise.
