My 2 year old dog started being sick this morning she was sick quite a few times snd started having flecks of blood in what she was bringing up. So we took her in to the vet who said she had a temp and thought it was a gastritis. She had an antisickness jab and she has omeprazole and some probiotics. The anti sickness jab seems to have worked she hasnt been sick again. But she is really not looking well.

she is just drooling, shaky and sleepy. She did try to poop but all she could manage was some mucous.

has anyone dog had this how long did it take for them to feel better?

my other two dogs are totally normal but the 2 year old is breaking my heart!

Please go back to the vet, now. There should be an out of hours contact number. If you are worried enough to post on here, go get your dog checked out again - trust your instincts. Hopefully not the same, but I lost my dog because I didn't trust my instinct and I so wish I had taken the time, incontinence and extra money to get her to the vet out of hours. Hopefully it will be absolutely nothing to be concerned about but at least you will know that.

My dog was like this when he had kennel cough. I think they initially said gastroenteritis. Luckily my wife is very protective of him and is really good at spotting health issues (partly due to anxiety). I'm much more chill. When we took him in they said it was very good we did and he needed some additional treatment. The doggy day care very sadly lost one of the other dogs with no obvious risk factors
