Car restraint

My dog jumps about in the car and barks but i can cope as long as I know she is secured. Currently using a seat belt attachment that I clip to her harness. Today she got free- must have jumped on the seat belt release. So now I need something else!!

I've tried a box type thing that attached to headrests but she didn't want to go it that. I also tried a lead attached to the headrest combined with seatbelt attachment but she managed to wind it round her neck and I had to stop the car and free her before she strangled herself! Any genius ideas?

Also tried putting her in boot with a metal grill partition but she goes mad and chews on the bars!

A crate. It’s the safest way, you’ll need to train her if she’s reluctant.

You can’t carry on as you are, it sounds dangerous for you all (and for other road users!).

A crate in the boot then. That will be the safest environment for her and you - and some desensitisation training so she is comfortable in it.

Thanks I will give it a go!
