Magic tips to get a puppy to sleep at night?

My new puppy arrived this week. She’s perfect! But she doesn’t sleep unless she’s on me. She wakes up every hour and cries and howls until I go downstairs, as soon as I pick her up she falls asleep. As soon as I try and put her back in her bed, she wakes up and it starts over again. I know she’s young, I know she’s missing her family. I just want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to help because I’m tired! She has one of my jumpers in her bed, she has a noise on Alexa. She has a full belly and has had a wee. She’s exhausted, but fighting it. It’s like having a new born, except then I got time off work! Any magical tips that I can do to help the situation?

@raspberryberet7 ive put one of those chicks that has a heart beat (it was my sons!) and it didn’t help at all! Annoyingly, I’m sat on the floor now and she’s sat across the room sleeping happily, it only seems to be at night she’s clingy. I had a dream she was weeing on my sofa and shot up last night. She was sound asleep 🤦🏼‍♀️

With both my lab and my goldie, we moved a mattress into the kitchen for the first few nights. Huge shock for them to be wrenched away from their litter so one of us slept down with them the first few nights. Also helped with night time wees. It didn’t in any way affect their ability to settle alone over night - just provided reassurance in the transition period when they were tiny babies just moved away from everything they knew!

Just a quick update, she’s still asleep!!!! I think she’s exhausted after a full day playing with the kids yesterday, but she slept all night through and is asleep still now! I’ve slept a full night in my bed and I’m going to go wake her up in a minute!

My dog has a bed in the bedroom. First time I have allowed this and it works for us. Started on holiday when she was crying so moved her bed in and she stayed there until I got up.
