Stashing food!

I have a little cockapoo and this is my first dog.

Whenever I give him food (something good like chicken or beef) he will take this and then stash it, under clothes, under pillows, behind the sofa.

Why does he do this? Why won't he just eat it there and then.

I once found 5 chips hidden in a laundry pile. He doesn't even like chips haha.

Personally I wouldn't be allowing this kind of behaviour as it can escalate into resource guarding.

If he doesn't want it then take it off him.

Cocker spaniels are prolific resource guarders. Agree with others don’t allow this behaviour. If it develops in to full blown resource guarding yoh could have a proper bite risk.
