Cushings Disease

Very random question, but hoping someone can shed some
wisdom.

I’ve just been on holiday leaving my elderly dog who has cushings behind. When we were away he had increased thirst, several overnight accidents. Since we’ve been back (3 nights) he’s been fine. I know cushings is an increase of stress hormone, is it likely the stress of me leaving him has caused this?

He has had his meds adjusted once before as he was starting to drink more, have more accidents etc.

It's certainly possible. I used to groom a lovely Bedlington with cushings. Her owners (who were elderly, not very mobile and always at home with her) were adamant that she very, very rarely had accidents at home.

After her diagnosis, I noticed that she became more anxious and struggled being away from them for any length of time. She started having enormous wees all over the table and floor 2/3 times per appointment.

In the end I asked her owners to stay for the duration of her groom and she went back to having very limited accidents in the salon again.

Thank you for your response. I will think of another plan for our summer holiday
