I’m looking at the shark cordless one and the miele atm.
Any recommendations welcome! We have a Labrador and current shark hoover isn’t adequate enough for the amount of hair 🤢

thank you

I would be wary of a cordless one for Beth air if I am honest.

We have this one: sharkclean.co.uk/product/shark-stratos-pet-pro-anti-hair-wrap-plus-anti-odour-xl-upright-vacuum-az3000ukt-zidAZ3000UKT and it is excellent.

We have a beagle x pug that sheds like a beast, but this keeps up with him.

The amount we got up when we first used this hoover was shocking, considering the previous hoover was also a pet variety.

Love my Shark TruePet corded. My friend has had no end of trouble with her Shark cordless.

AgMaggy · 22/05/2024 21:32

Miele, but a proper plug in bagged one! Cordless just don’t have the power, regardless of brand.

Beginningless · 22/05/2024 21:32

Im a Henry devotee.

Viewfrommyhouse · 22/05/2024 21:32

I'd stick with a corded Miele for the main, and maybe get a cheaper cordless for quick whizzes round.

Justkeepingplatesspinning · 22/05/2024 21:32

Cordless vacs don't have enough power to get per hair off the floor.
We have the same shark vac as @loudbatperson It's great. You have to empty the roller frequently as hair gets wrapped round it, but I've had to do that with every vac I've had!

Sugarsandwiches · 22/05/2024 21:33

The only thing that really helped us was daily robot hoover plus then going over with proper hoover every few days.

longdistanceclaraclara · 22/05/2024 21:34

I've got a vac blade pet which is great but it wouldn't cope with a lab, you need something corded

BarnabusPig · 22/05/2024 21:40

Sebo Felix Pet is the best I’ve ever used.

Serenity45 · 23/05/2024 01:32

Going against the grain but we love our Shark cordless! We have a lab and whizz round downstairs daily, rest of the house probably weekly/as needed. We have wood flooring in whole house apart from slate tiles in kitchen and carpeted stairs/landing. Shark copes with all of it and we couldn't believe how much it picks up.

muddyford · 23/05/2024 08:53

I have a Lab and a springer and have a Miele. I vacuum twice a week.

ilovesushi · 23/05/2024 14:59

We have a Miele which is about 13 years old and copes brilliantly with all the hair from our very sheddy lab/golden and two cats. It is great but heard the newer models are maybe not as good.

FriedGold · 23/05/2024 15:00

Henry all the way. Only hoover my dogs have never broken!

fieldsofbutterflies · 23/05/2024 16:05

I loved our Shark but it didn't last very long - maybe two years which isn't worth it to me. Our current one is Vax which was cheaper and seems to do just as good a job. One of our cats sheds almost constantly and it deals with his fur perfectly.

TheMixedGirl · 23/05/2024 16:24

I have the miele. They last years and years and are brilliant. I also have a Dyson - also very good

Youllnevergetabetterbitofbutteronyourknife · 23/05/2024 16:28

I have the Shark Stratos upright corded XXL version and it is the only thing that will pick up my very long haired cats fur! I tried cordless but they don't have the power necessary.

Floramac · 23/05/2024 19:22

Just bought the shark stratos cordless for upstairs ( all carpets). Its brilliant, could not believe how much it picks up. The only downside for me is lack of power with the nozzle.

PancakesWithLemonSugar · 23/05/2024 19:30

Have got a Miele cat & dog for main hoover and a cordless Dyson animal for quick whizz around. Dyson is pretty good for cordless but has three suction strengths and the strongest one is best but doesn't last that long. So tend to use the medium one for a quick daily whizz around. Also have a continuously moulting Labrador!
